Pearl Gabel is a writer, photographer and video journalist based in New York City. Her work has been featured in many publications and organizations, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Daily Beast, NBC News, Reuters, Newsweek, The Atlantic, Vice, Mashable, The Humane Society, The New York City Department of Education, and International Medical Corps. She was a multimedia journalist and staff photographer for the New York Daily News for over five years, where she covered everything from the riots in Ferguson, Missouri to the aftermath of the Newtown, Connecticut school shooting. She studied writing at the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and Hampshire College. Her work has been recognized by The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Media For a Just Society, and the New York Press Photographers Association. She is working on an upcoming short story collection and available for assignments.
